About Us.
Hound Dog Homes Ltd. is a residential construction company that was founded in 2020 by Nick Legere who began doing small residential projects and renovations as a two-person operation. Since then, we have grown into a workforce of eleven highly skilled individuals, ranging from labourers, apprentices, and certified carpenters. We have completed various residential projects, including new home construction, throughout Cumberland County over the past five years; however, since June of 2023, our company has been mainly based at Fox Harb’r Resort in Wallace, Nova Scotia. At Hound Dog Homes Ltd., our mission is to ensure client satisfaction through the high-quality work we guarantee. Not only do we strive to make our customers happy, but we also prioritize our employees by paying everyone fair wages, providing excellent benefits, creating a positive work environment, as well as hosting team-building events throughout the year. We believe that investing in our team is the best way to accomplish our mission of providing high-quality work since our employees are highly motivated individuals with a drive to consistently do their best.
Hound Dog Homes Ltd. is also committed to giving back to the community through donations and sponsorships, as well as completing projects for individuals and organizations who need assistance. A recent renovation the company completed was the addition of a storage room at the Bridge Adult Service Centre in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Helping our community is important and vital work, and it will continue to be a priority of Hound Dog Homes Ltd.
Additionally, Megan Rushton (wife of Nick Legere, as well as owner) is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Interior Design program through Yorkville University and is estimated to complete this degree in 2026. This means that Hound Dog Homes Ltd. will soon be adding interior design services for clients to utilize, which includes working with customers to determine their needs and desires of the project, creating construction drawings in accordance with building codes and standards, sourcing materials, as well as coordinating with workers on the jobsite to ensure everything is being done according to the plan in place. Furthermore, creating budgets and timelines for clients is a responsibility and specialty of Megan’s due to her education and experience in accounting and project controls.
